Timothy Pain Shortlisted for National Award
Forest YMCA Chief Executive Timothy Pain has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award. Tim has been included in the 'Charity Principal of the Year' category at the Charity Times Awards which will take place on 16 October 2013 at central London's Lancaster Hotel. He will be up against stiff competition in the category, with six shortlisted including the CEOs of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Everton in the Community and Antony Nolan.
Of the shortlisting, Tim said: "It's terrific that our work has been recognised nationally and that we are now up against such big-name charity brands: it has really put Forest YMCA on the map.
"I'm surprised and honoured to have been shortlisted for the award, but it's far more about the hard work of our staff and trustees than me. Most importantly, this will let many more people know about our transformational work with young homeless people across North East London".
The nomination recognises Timothy's hard work and dedication to the charity, which is currently expanding its services to include upgraded rooms in its hostels, the installation of a new gym and the development of the "mYPad": shipping containers which have been converted into bespoke accommodation for young homeless people who are employed and saving for a home of their own.
